Three ASQ Academy concerts at St Andrew's this week

..."a performance of the utmost refinement and sensitivity in which each player suppressed his own individuality to find a common voice."...
(Lindis Taylor, "Middle C")

24 July 2018 - There are three concerts at St Andrew’s this week for your enjoyment: two to be given by Academy participants and one by some of the tutors. Details are on this website under the Concerts tab or on the left of the home page. Entry is by koha/donation.

Our 2018 ASQ International Music Academy got off to a fine start yesterday at St Andrew’s on The Terrace in Wellington with a busy day of chamber music and string orchestra rehearsals and coaching. Our forty participants from all over New Zealand, from China and from Australia, are all non-professional adult and student musicians with a love of playing ensemble music.

During this week they’ll be helped by a coaching team made up of the members of the Aroha Quartet plus guest tutors: Donald Armstrong (NZSO Associate Concertmaster), Brian Shillito (former NZSO Sub-Principal Viola), Ken Ichinose (NZSO Associate Principal Cello), Joan Perarnau Garriga (NZSO Section Principal Bass) and Emma Sayers (well-known Wellington pianist & artist teacher at NZSM).

We hope you can make it to one or more of the concerts.
