ASQ violist Zhongxian Jin leaves the quartet

Kim, our longstanding violist, decided at the end of 2025 to leave the quartet due to pressures created by his increased teaching workload. Kim was one of the two remaining original members of the group and we miss him very much and wish him the very best for his teaching career.

Kim’s place will be taken for the first half of 2026 by NZSO Assistant Principal violist Nicholas Hancox and in the second half of the year by NZSO violist Eli Vincent. Welcome Nick and Eli! We’re really looking forward to working with you both.
