...I very much enjoyed the freshness of the programme itself, and the musicality and professionalism of the playing itself. It was a great musical experience....

14 January 2024 - After a break due to the Covid pandemic we’re delighted to be able to resume our series of ASQ International Academies in China. From 22-27 January we’ll be in Zhongshan to join a team of local teachers headed by violinist Meijuan Chen to work with around 50 school aged children. The days will be filled with string orchestra rehearsals and chamber music coaching. The Academy includes concerts by the ASQ and local musicians and a final gala concert for participants.
Due to illness our cellist Robert Ibell is unable to travel to China. We’re very happy that Orchestra Wellington Principal Cellist Brenton Veitch is able to join us instead.
