Farewell, Blythe!

1 December 2014 - We're sad to announce that Blythe Press is upping sticks and heading overseas to further his career. Blythe joined us in 2012 and quickly established himself in the Quartet. He has contributed so much to the rehearsals and performances. The rest of the group will really miss him.

Photo sessions won't have the same challenges in future without Blythe's tall frame to fit in!

We wish Blythe, Kuan Miao and Isobel the best of luck with their new endeavours.

Our programme begins with the elegant Classicism of Boccherini. In the next work, ‘The Bullet’ by French composer George Onslow, the composer dramatically depicts a hunting accident in which he was almost killed and his subsequent recovery. In the second half, the atmospheric ‘Swim the Sliding Continents’ by Auckland composer Louise Webster and the heartfelt ‘Postlude’ by Ukranian composer Valentyn Silvestrov are followed by Dvorak’s richly Romantic String Quintet No 2 in G. Tickets ($30 General Admission, $25 Concessions, $10 Under 18s, $60 Families - 2 Adults + 2 Under 18s) available from Eventfinda (service fees apply) or at the door from 7 pm.
