Due to unforeseen circumstances this concert has had to be cancelled. The quartet had been looking forward to performing in Auckland and is disappointed that it will not be possible on this occasion. We will re-schedule the concert for sometime in 2012, so keep an eye on the website for details and we hope to see you there.

Our programme begins with the elegant Classicism of Boccherini. In the next work, ‘The Bullet’ by French composer George Onslow, the composer dramatically depicts a hunting accident in which he was almost killed and his subsequent recovery. In the second half, the atmospheric ‘Swim the Sliding Continents’ by Auckland composer Louise Webster and the heartfelt ‘Postlude’ by Ukranian composer Valentyn Silvestrov are followed by Dvorak’s richly Romantic String Quintet No 2 in G. Tickets ($30 General Admission, $25 Concessions, $10 Under 18s, $60 Families - 2 Adults + 2 Under 18s) available from Eventfinda (service fees apply) or at the door from 7 pm.
