...The Aroha Quartet played [the Beethoven] with passion, with beautiful tone and meticulous clear phrasing...This was a memorable concert and the Aroha Quartet are one of the great musical assets of our city....

3 May 2016 - Auckland-based composer Alex Taylor has written two new miniatures, 'a coincidence of surface I and II' for the Ensō String Quartet tour with Chamber Music NZ. The two pieces can be performed on their own, or simultaneously as an octet.
Wellington audiences at the Michael Fowler Centre on 20 May will have the chance to hear each work played separately and together. We'll be performing 'a coincidence of surface I' at the pre-concert talk, then joining the Ensō Quartet to perform the octet version of the work in a special encore.
