5 June 2020 - Applications have continued to come in for our sixth ASQ Academy and we have enough enrolments now to be able to confirm that the course will run, unless the Covid-19 alert level rises again. If that happens, and we have to cancel the course, applicants will receive a full refund.

The Academy will take place at Chilton St James School in Lower Hutt from 13 to 18 July. Participants can apply for a short course (13-15 July or 15-18 July) or for the full six days.

The course is aimed at student and adult non-professional string players and pianists of a minimum standard of Grade VI.

As in previous years, the course will include string ensemble (conducted by Donald Armstrong, NZSO Associate Concertmaster), chamber music, group classes, informal concerts and a final gala concert.

The fees are different from those shown on the application form. It now costs $300 for a short course (first or second half) and $600 for the full six-day course, payable on the same date as the application deadline. Applicants should use the existing application form.

The application form, along with the ASQ Academy brochure and further updates, can be found on our website.

We would love you to consider this opportunity for fun chamber music & string ensemble playing, post-lockdown!

Applications close on Friday 26 June.
